The Oakland City Council passed an ordinance that requires individuals ages 12 and older to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination before they can enter certain indoor places. Dental offices were included in the initial proposal, but the Alameda County Dental Society and local community clinics successfully advocated to have dental offices removed to protect everyone's access to essential dental care.

All California dentists with sedation, anesthesia permits expiring in 2022 must renew by Dec. 31 to practice under existing permit terms

The Dental Board of California today notified licensees with general anesthesia, conscious sedation and oral conscious sedation for minors permits expiring in 2022 that they “must renew their permits by December 31, 2021, in order to continue to practice under the existing terms of the permits beyond the scheduled 2022 expiration date."

Practitioners who dispense controlled substances subject to revised reporting requirements

General anesthesia, sedation permit requirements changing for California dentists

Small-scale CDA Cares provides $28,211 in dental services to 50 people in Woodland

The CDA Foundation hosted the clinic at Northern Valley Indian Health. With the support of 31 volunteers, including the NVIH staff, dentists were able to safely perform 271 procedures, such as fillings, cleanings and extractions, for a total of $28,211 in care.
