Virtual Course Description:
Ceramic dental implants are a relatively new frontier in dental implantology. However, given the increased demand by patients and the certain advantages that ceramic implants have over their titanium counterparts, the field is growing rapidly. Ceramic implants have equal osseointegration to titanium, superior mucointegration, better esthetics and minimal to no peri-implantitis in long term studies. This course will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of ceramic implants, the research supporting long term success rates, surgical and restorative protocols, and start to finish case studies highlighting ceramic dental implants.
Course objectives:
– Learn the advantages and disadvantages of ceramic implants
– Gain understanding of zirconia as a material for dental implants
– Identify patients who can benefit from ceramic implant treatment
– Learn the surgical and prosthetic protocols
– Prescribe, plan and execute ceramic implant treatment from start to finish
