How to Receive C.E. Credits
Continuing Education Conference Recordings Protocol
![]() |
Did you know that you can obtain up to 50% of the California Board of Dental Examiners continuing education requirements through correspondence courses? The course content must meet the board’s requirements (usually clinical as opposed to practice management) and be sponsored by a registered provider of continuing education. If you have purchased Audio CDs, the CD-ROM, or subscribed to the On-Line Library from one of the California Dental Association’s scientific sessions, you can request credit using the following procedures: |
- Purchase the course from Digitell, Inc., on-site Conference Recording.
- Listen to the recording and write a summary of the information you learned from the recording. The summary should be legible and written in complete sentences. You must write 4 -5 paragraphs in length for each 2 ½ hours of course material. Each paragraph must be a minimum of 6 (six) sentences. Cost saving note: Multiple persons may share a CD; however, each person must complete their own summary.
- Make a photocopy of the front of the CD purchased or provide a copy of your invoice.
- Mail your materials along with the CE Request Form to:
CALIFORNIA DENTAL ASSOCIATION
ATTN: CONTINUING EDUCATION
1201 K STREET MALL
SACRAMENTO, CA 95814
Upon receipt of your materials, CDA will process your request based on the following:
- You purchased your CD from Digitell, Inc., within one year of the convention.
- The original course was approved for continuing education credit. You will be issued continuing education credit on recorded courses for a period of 12 months from the date of the presentation.
- CDA receives a complete summary, photocopy of the CD and/or a copy of a paid invoice.
- A certificate of completion will be mailed approximately 5 – 10 business days from the receipt of the materials.
The number of units you receive is based on the course content and the number of hours recorded (the general rule is one unit per hour of course material). A Certificate of Completion will be mailed for your records. Certificates from all providers of continuing education should be kept in your records for a minimum of four years.
