| PROGRAM AT A GLANCE | |
| What: | The “Member Get a Member” is a recruitment program designed to increase CDA’s market share and to recognize and reward our members’ efforts to promote membership and the benefits of organized dentistry. |
| When: | Recruitment efforts will begin Sept. 1 and end Dec. 31, 2009. |
| Why: | Reaching the membership goal of 75 percent of all licensed dentists in California is a significant challenge and a crucial step in creating an organization of strength and excellence. |
| Member Benefit: | Recruit a new member and receive $100, which you may: 1. Apply to your CDA dues; 2. Donate to the CDA Foundation; or 3. Apply to your recruited member’s first-year dues |
| Every member who recruits a new member will be entered into a drawing at the end of the year for a grand prize. | |
Q. Who qualifies for the $100?
A. You must be a tripartite member to qualify for the $100 credit.
Q. Is there a maximum number of credits I can accumulate?
A. The offer is limited to $500 per member per year.
Q. I recruited a new member. When will the $100 credit be applied?
A. The $100 will be applied the following year. For example, if you recruited a new member in 2007, you will receive a $100 credit toward your 2008 membership dues or a $100 contribution toward the CDA Foundation.
Q. I just recruited a member. Can I use my $100 credit toward the new member’s dues?
A. Yes.
Q. How will CDA know how I want to use my $100 credit?
A. You will receive a letter thanking you for recruiting a new member and asking you how you want to apply your $100 credit. You will need to respond by filling out a form indicating how you want to use your $100 credit either toward your CDA dues, the new member dues, or a contribution for the CDA Foundation.
Q. Does CDA prorate dues?
A. Yes
Prorated dues are only for new members. If the dentist has been a member within two years, then their dues are not prorated.
Q. How do I recruit a new member?
A. 1. Seek any colleague who is not currently a tripartite member.
2. Share ADA, CDA and your local dental society benefits and services.
3. Ask your colleague to include your name on the membership application, or better yet, give them an application with your name on it. Applications are available online at: cda.org/library/public/cdaapp.pdf
Q. How do I know if a dentist is a current tripartite member?
A. All CDA members are listed on the CDA Web site under “Find a Dentist.” In addition, updated nonmember lists are available through your local component’s office. Please contact them for a copy, or you can request one directly from Conor McNulty at conor.mcnulty@cda.org or 916.554.4978.
Q. What are the top benefits of membership?
A. There are too many benefits of organized dentistry to list them all here. The five key benefits of membership include:
Q. If a member’s dues have lapsed, what are the steps to becoming a current member?
A. If a member’s dues have lapsed for the current year, they need to call CDA to pay their membership dues. If their membership lapsed the pervious year, they need to call the component. If their membership has been lapsed for more than two years they need to reapply through the component.
Q. I am recruiting a member who has been practicing for more than five years. Do they qualify for a new member discount if they have not been a CDA member in the past?
A. No. CDA offers zero membership dues for recent graduates and reduced dues for four years following licensure. To learn more about reduced dues contact Ayme McMillan at ayme.mcmillan@cda.org or 916.554.4972.
Q. If I recruit a dentist who was a CDA member in the past but is not currently a member, will I qualify for the $100 credit toward membership dues or contribution to the CDA Foundation?
A. Yes. Any previous member counts as a nonmember.
